Traditional Martial Arts - Exercise - Self-Defense - Competition

Shuri-Ryu is an authentic traditional martial arts that combines karate, jujitsu, and kobudo (weapons) with the mental and physical discipline of training the mind and body. By combining ancient traditional disciplines with modern principals of physical exercise, anaerobic, aerobic, and flexibility one can achieve a balance of the body, mind, and spirit.

The Shuri-Ryu style of karate is the oldest style of karate practiced today. It is balanced with mental and physical skills. The benefits one gets from continued study of karatedo are far beyond a stronger, healthier body. The mental awareness and strength of spirit is a gradual process and will continue to influence personal confidence, discipline, and your desire to improve.

Self-Defense

You deserve to feel safe

 

Learn all the techniques that will help keep you safe throughout life. It is a crazy world we live in and you shouldn’t have to live in fear. During this class we will focus on:  

Basic striking – Where to strike and what to strike with. Learn vital striking areas to get the most out of your strikes. Release techniques – How to get out of certain holds and defend yourself from attacks.  

Stand up defenses, Ground Defense, Rape Defense  

Locking techniques – How to take control of the attacker Awareness – Tips and tricks to help keep you out of bad situations. Let’s face it, the best defense is to avoid an attack.
